Bendrigg has different course options available throughout the year for schools, organsied groups (such as charities and colleges), families and adults with a disabled member and adults with a disability.
Our friendly team are on hand every step of the way to guide you through the bookings process, give you the warmest of welcomes and make sure that you have a fabulous time.
People of all abilities are welcome here, including those with autism, neurodiversity, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, sensory disabilities or behavioural difficulties. Our team will work with you to enable everyone to participate in the adventure activities. “How is that possible?” we hear you ask. Well at Bendrigg, we have the setting and the scenery, the equipment and the expertise, the people and the passion. Together, we have a limitless supply of adventure, with a limitless determination to improve people’s lives.
No matter what your ability, the team at Bendrigg will enable everyone in your group to participate in adventure activities. Whether you are an ‘official’ group such as a charity, support group, care home or hospice; or an ‘unofficial’ group of like-minded people coming together, your Bendrigg experience will fill you with conviction and confidence.
Our school courses are designed to provide inclusive and accessible experiences for children and students of all abilities, creating memories that will last a lifetime. We offer various course durations and adaptive equipment is provided to ensure that each student can take part in everything they’d like to. You’ll experience a range of exciting activities, both indoors and outdoors, including climbing, caving, abseiling, arts and crafts, archery and bushcraft in a safe and supportive environment.
Our family open courses are a wonderful way for families with a disabled member to spend quality time together. Bendrigg creates a unique haven where kindness is in the air, and adventure is in the offing. At Bendrigg, there is always freedom to have fun, all are welcome, and all are valued. The beautiful natural surroundings of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks is the perfect place to make precious memories, socialise together and meet other families, who often become friends for life!
Our adult open courses are perfect for over 18 year olds who want to tear down barriers and build up possibilities. We offer various course durations and adaptive equipment is provided to ensure that you can take part in everything you’d like to. You’ll experience a range of activities, have time to get to know other participants, and stay in our accessible accommodation. For the duration of the course, meals are provided from our fantastic cooks. Just let us know any dietary requirements prior to your arrival.
Here at Bendrigg we take special pride in offering fully inclusive and accessible Duke of Edinburgh courses to cater for people of all abilities. There are three progressive levels which, when successfully completed, lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award. Our team will support you through your Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, whether it is the training, practice or qualifying expedition. We have specialist equipment to ensure you can complete your Duke of Edinburgh Award to the very best of your ability.
